BARTLEY - The Southwest volleyball team beat Chase County, St. Patrick's, and Medicine Valley last week, making their record 24-0 as the RPAC tournament approaches. The Roughriders beat Chase County two set to one, St. Patrick's two sets to none, and Medicine Valley three sets to none.

The Medicine Valley Raiders volleyball team took four tough losses last week against Brady, Maywood-Hayes Center, Southwest, and Wallace. On Tuesday, October 8, the Raiders played Brady and MHC in a home triangular.

OVERTON - A rough third quarter proved costly Friday afternoon as Cambridge’s upset bid came up just short in a 40-32 loss at Overton. The Trojans, who fell to 4-3 on the season, saw the Eagles score 16-unanswered in the third quarter to push a three-point halftime lead to 37-18 headed to the fourth.

ARAPAHOE - Arapahoe captured a tight third set and used that momentum to close out visiting Hi-Line in four Friday, grabbing the Warriors’ eighth win of the season. Arapahoe improved to 8-13 while Hi-Line fell to 6-18 on the season.

The Medicine Valley football team left everything it had on its home field Friday night when the Raiders faced Wallace for homecoming. MV matched the Wildcats touchdown for touchdown in the contest.

Maywood/Hayes Center’s football team still has playoff hopes despite a 0-46 loss to Hitchcock County last Friday. MHC is fifth in the D2-6 district.

SOUTHERN VALLEY With an offense that pushed the tempo, the Maywood-Hayes Center volleyball team captured a four-set victory at Southern Valley Thursday. The Wolves led throughout the first two sets, taking victories of 25-14 and 25-17 for a commanding lead in the match.

Wall placed eighth, Broker tenth, Harris eleventh, Gunderson twelfth, Becker fourteenth, and Hernandez fifteenth. Besides Sankey, Broker, and Hernandez, the Lady Wolves had Kesli Cox and Adrianna Estrada competing.
