ALMA - The Arapahoe football team continued to dominate Friday, cruising to 56-16 win at Alma to improve to 6-0 this season. The Warriors scored all 56 points before halftime, including 35 in the second quarter in rolling to victory.

BARTLEY - Both Medicine Valley and Southwest put offense on full display in Thursday’s football tilt in Bartley. Southwest managed to finish far more drives with points, though, and rolled away to a 51-20 victory over the Raiders.

ARAPAHOE - After a defensive slugfest in the first half, offense exploded in the third quarter Friday night between a pair of undefeated football teams. But in a top 10 showdown, Arapahoe scored twice in the fourth quarter to hold off visiting Dundy County-Stratton, 26-20, to improve to 5-0 on the season.

SOUTHERN VALLEY Southern Valley announced Tuesday that it has cancelled the final three games of its football season. In a release, high school principal and activities director Josh Lanik said the Eagles canceled the final three varsity games and the remainder of the junior varsity schedule due to a lack of available players.

JOHNSON LAKE - the Southwest girls golf team captured the team title and had the overall individual champion at the Hi-Line Girls Golf Invite. Maddy Tryon shot a 103 to take first place and lead the Roughriders to the team title at Tuesday’s tournament.

ARAPAHOE - The Southwest volleyball team traveled to Arapahoe last Tuesday, September 24, to take on the Arapahoe Warriors. The Roughriders rolled past the Warriors in three sets, going 25-17, 25-17, and 25-19.

Last Monday, September 30, six local schools traveled to Kearney to compete at the UNK Cross Country Invite: Cambridge, Hi-Line, Maywood- Hayes Center, Medicine Valley, Southern Valley, and Southwest.

HAYES CENTER - Seven area schools competed at the Maywood-Hayes Center crosscountry invite last Thursday, including Arapahoe, Cambridge, Hi-Line, Maywood-Hayes Center, Medicine Valley, Southern Valley, and Southwest.

After starting off the season against teams with a combined 14-2 record, the Medicine Valley football team will travel to 2-2 Southwest Friday. The Roughriders are 2-2 on the season and are just ahead of the Raiders in the D6-4 district.
