STAMFORD - The Southern Valley/Alma softball team continued its recent hot streak, sweeping both games last week while improving to 12-5 this season. The Saints scored nine in the bottom of the third Tuesday to end their contest with Lexington by run-rule, 12-0.

EUSTIS - A strong start and an early lead wouldn’t hold up as the Hi-Line football team fell to visiting Ravenna Friday evening, 54-6. Ravenna improved to 3-0 while the Bulls fell to 0-3.

CURTIS - The Medicine Valley High School volleyball team played six games in six days last week. The Lady Raiders started on September 10 against Bertrand. The Raiders lost three sets to none. Remmi Stout led with three kills and two blocks. Haylie Gustafson had eight digs, and Kenley Cole had seven. Oakley Stout received the serve ten times, Remmi Stout eight, and Gustafson six.

ARAPAHOE - Through three weeks of the season, the Arapahoe football team is still looking for a worthy challenger. Friday’s opponent, Arcadia- Loup City, entered town with a spotless 2-0 record, but the Warriors chewed them up with 33 first-half points en route to a 52-7 win that pushed Arapahoe to 3-0.

BROKEN BOW - The Medicine Valley Raiders and Hi-Line Bulls competed at the 2024 Broken Bow Cross Country Invite last Saturday, September 14. Kael Garrett of Medicine Valley finished eighth, the only local athlete to place in the top fifteen at the Broken Bow Invite. Seventeen teams competed at the Broken Bow Invite.

Trojans dominate second half in victory at Axtell

AXTELL - Stealing a page from Axtell’s first two opponents’ playbooks, the Cambridge football team dominated the second half and captured a 34-20 win over the Wildcats Friday night. While some costly mistakes put the Trojans in a 2012 hole at the half, Cambridge outscored the Wildcats 22-0 in the second half to improve to 2-1 on the year.

SUTTON - A difficult first month continued for the Southern Valley football team Friday when the Eagles traveled to Sutton and dropped an 81-6 contest against the Mustangs. Sutton ran for 363 yards and controlled the contest from the outset.
