Body SUTTON - A difficult first month continued for the Southern Valley football team Friday when the Eagles traveled to Sutton and dropped an 81-6 contest against the Mustangs. Sutton ran for 363 yards and controlled the contest from the outset.

Body CAMBRIDGE - In a rematch of last season’s Class D2 State Championship game, Overton again took down the Trojans. While the first set was a fight, the Eagles rolled from there to take a 25-21, 25-11, 25-11 victory over Cambridge, dropping the Trojans to 6-5 this season.

Body IMPERIAL - While all three of Southern Valley/ Alma’s softball contests were lopsided last week, the Saints managed two wins and improved to 10-5 on the year. Tuesday, the Saints struggled on defense with free baserunners and dropped an 11-0 home decision to Fillmore Central.
