CAMBRIDGE - Competing in another team’s invite at its on facility, the Cambridge boys and girls track and field teams each claimed titles at the Medicine Valley Invite Thursday. The girls team was dominant in scoring 175 points to overcome Maywood-Hayes center, which was second with 103.

The Hi-Line boys track and field team scored 26 points to finish eighth and the girls put up 21 points to take 10th at the 13-team Bertrand Invite Thursday. Isaiah Bullis, Colton Stubbs, Joszelyn Nichelson and Whitney Dickau each won three medals for the Bulls, who put up 17 personal bests and 11 season bests at the meet.

Southern Valley Junior Shooters boasts a team of 38 junior and senior level members for their 2022 team. They held their hamburger feed and silent auction fundraiser on Wednesday, April 13 at the Oxford Fire Hall where they served 140 people. The silent auction portion brought in over $700. They also had raffles for a processed hog and a shotgun. Winning the hog was Don Vacha and winning the shotgun was Chance Best. Their efforts raised enough funds to pay for all of their expenses to attend the 52 Cornhusker School Trap Shoot in Doniphan, Nebraska on April 28, 29, and 30.

CAMBRIDGE - The best weather of the early track season brought out the best performances thus far as four local teams competed at the Don Stine Invite in Cambridge Saturday. The Cambridge boys and girls team collected runnerup finishes in the team races as each finished second to dominant performances from Chase County.

Southwest girls finish runner-up at Hi-Line Invite

ELWOOD - The Southwest girls finished runner-up at the Hi-Line Invite Friday, leading four local teams in the 13-team fields at the first invite of the season. The Roughriders won 11 medals at the meet, led by Anastasia Gallegos, who took first in both the 100 and 300 hurdles events.

CAMBRIDGE - Four area golf teams teed off their seasons last week at the Cambridge Invite at Cross Creek Golf Links. Arapahoe led local teams with a sixth-place finish and a score of 403 while Hi-Line was eighth in the 13-team field with a 455 for the day.
