East Players Put Up Heavy Resistance in 2022 CSO Allstar Games

The West Girls and Boys took both of the 2022 CSO Allstar Game wins Friday night, but the East put up a good fight. The East Girls scored 36 while the West Girls scored 47. For the most part the East girls kept the deficit in the single digits, but they couldn’t pull ahead. Schyler Hoberty of Cambridge and Krista Best of Southern Valley scored 6 points apiece. Autumn Deterding of Cambridge scored 4 points and her teammate Paige Klumpe had several blocks. Arapahoe’s Hope Koller fired off 6 points- all in the second quarter- and was named the East Girl’s MVP.

On to Omaha

Thirty-three area athletes qualified for this weekend’s State Track and Field Meet in Omaha. Classes C and D will compete together throughout the meet for the first time as both will begin competition Friday at 9 a.m. at Omaha Burke High School. A complete listing of qualifiers and schedule for the State Meet can be found on Pages B2 and B3. SOUTHERN VALLEY - Southern Valley will be represented by five athletes in four events and Hi-Line will send four athletes to compete in three events at the Class C State Track and Field Meet in Omaha this weekend.

CAMBRIDGE - The Cambridge track and field teams continued their dominant ways in the team standings, sweeping the team titles at the district meet Thursday while also qualifying 11 individuals in 22 events along with four relay teams for the Class D State Meet in Omaha this weekend.

Local track teams wrap up regular season at Alma

ALMA - All five area track and field teams wrapped up their regular seasons at the Alma Dale Harsin Twilight Invite Thursday. Cambridge again swept the team titles as the Trojans’ girls team nearly scored 200 points in running away to the title over runner-up Arapahoe, which scored 57.5 points.
Southern Valley’s Ann Bose took another title in high jump with a winning height of 5-2 at Alma’s Dale Harsin Twilight.
