MCCOOK - After a tough stretch of results, the Cambridge volleyball team rebounded from a first-round setback to Chase County at Saturday’s McCook Invite to post a pair of wins while placing fifth. The Trojans downed Decatur Community, 25-22, 25-19, then completed their day with a 25-13, 25-18 win over Alliance.

Grove rushed for 34 yards and completed four passes for 18 yards. Arapahoe outgained the Eagles 431-151.

A brutal stretch of games continues for the Medicine Valley football team. The Raiders dropped to 0-3 on the season with a Friday loss against Ansley-Litchfield and will face Class D6 No. 1 Sumner- Eddyville-Miller Friday. Ansley-Litchfield is one of three non-ranked teams on the Raiders’ schedule.

BENKELMAN - The Hi-Line football team battled against one of the top teams in the region on the road Friday, but the Bulls couldn’t generate enough offense to keep up after halftime. Dundy County-Stratton, which improved to 4-0, scored twice in the third quarter and twice more in the fourth to put away a 50-7 win over the Bulls, who fell to 0-4.

BERTRAND - The Cambridge football team took to the road Friday and captured a 46-0 victory at Bertrand. While the offense continued to form its identity, the Trojans defense made life miserable for the Vikings.

OXFORD - The Southern Valley volleyball team had a big weekend with five games in three days. The Lady Eagles won four out of those five games, improving their overall record to 11-4.

NORTH PLATTE - The Hi-Line volleyball team won one match and dropped two at the North Platte Community College Tournament Saturday. The Bulls fell to Sutherland, 25-19, 26-24, in the opener, then rallied to win the second match against Cody-Kilgore 28-26, 25-21.

TRENTON - The Maywood- Hayes Center volleyball team excelled through a grueling week of competition, winning all six matches in a five-day span, culminating in a team title at the Hitchcock County Invite on Saturday.

ALMA - Arapahoe, Southern Valley, Southwest, and Medicine Valley cross-country teams competed at Alma last Monday, September 16. In the girls' race, Tayley Becker of Southern Valley and Ambie Custard of Southwest placed in the top fifteen.

The Roughriders took on the Southern Valley Eagles and won two sets to none.
