A new era of football for Medicine Valley began at home last week with a sixman matchup against perennial six-man favorite Arthur County. Med.

Nothing ever comes easy when it comes to a trip to Mullen, but the Maywood/Hayes Center football team gave the home team all it wanted in Friday’s contest. Both teams worked to establish their running games before going to the air when needed.

CURTIS - The Medicine Valley Raiders volleyball team took on the Arthur County Wolves at home last Thursday and lost three sets to one. Arthur County won the first set 25-19, and the Raiders came back in the second to win with the same score. But the Wolves fought back and won the next two sets by five or more points.

With a pair of triangulars last week, the Cambridge volleyball team split four matches, taking two wins Tuesday at Paxton before dropping both home matches Thursday. The Trojans swept both Paxton and Sutherland Tuesday.

During a busy week, the Hi-Line volleyball team won three of four matches to climb above .500 at 3-2 for the season. The Bulls swept past both Medicine Valley on Tuesday and South Loup on Friday while splitting a triangular with Sumner-Eddyville-Miller and Wilcox-Hildreth on Thursday.

CAMBRIDGE - The performance wasn't always pretty and there were plenty of moments of frustration, but the Cambridge football team accomplished its primary objective in its Friday matinee against Franklin.

MAYWOOD - The Southwest Roughriders volleyball team is 6-0 after last Thursday's triangular at Maywood-Hayes Center. The Riders haven't lost a set, sweeping Rawlins County and MHC.

The Arapahoe volleyball team traveled to Benkelman to take on the Dundy County-Stratton Tigers and the Hitchcock County Falcons in a triangular last Thursday. The Warriors swept both teams two sets to none, improving their record to 3-1.

EUSTIS - Hi-Line’s defense proved efficient at taking the ball away from South Loup in Friday afternoon’s contest, but the Bulls couldn’t cash in on opportunities as they dropped the tilt, 34-15, to fall to 0-2 this season.
