Area girls basketball teams will play their regular season finales this weekend, then enter postseason play Monday and Tuesday. Though subdistrict brackets were not released as of press time, the postseason outlook for hosts and assignments had taken shape Tuesday.

BARTLEY - Area boys wrestlers begin postseason Friday at the District D-3 and District D-4 tournaments at Elm Creek and Southwest. Southern Valley will compete at District D-2 in Elm Creek while the remainder of area teams - Arapahoe, Cambridge, Hi-Line, Medicine Valley and Southwest - will compete at the District D-4 Tournament hosted by the Roughriders in Bartley.

The Maywood/Hayes Center girls basketball team picked up two more wins last week as it works to lock down the number one seed in the D1-11 subdistrict. The Wolves won a roller coaster game at Hershey Thursday.

After a three-game appearance at the RPAC tournament, the Medicine Valley boys basketball team stayed busy with three games last week. The Raiders started off the RPAC tournament Jan.

ELWOOD - In a conference tilt, the Cambridge girls basketball team managed to pull a victory out against a Hi-Line squad that gave the Trojans everything they wanted for the games first three-andhalf quarters.

ARAPAHOE - The Cambridge boys basketball team improved to 11-3 since the holiday break and 13-7 overall with a 61-28 victory at Arapahoe Tuesday. Cambridge scored 24 points in each of the first two quarters and built a 48-11 halftime lead.

ARAPAHOE - The Arapahoe girls basketball team gutted its way through a physical and sometimes sloppy fourth quarter for a 47-41 win Tuesday over Cambridge, ending the contest on a 10-2 spurt. The victory was the 19th of the season for the Warriors, who improved to 19-4 while dropping the Trojans to 16-5.

The Maywood/Hayes Center boys basketball team broke a three-game losing streak last week, earning a win against subdistrict opponent Hitchcock County. The week started with a trip to Hershey.

ELWOOD - Playing their second-consecutive game against each other, the Cambridge boys basketball team captured a 66-33 victory at Hi-Line Thursday. The Bulls led after a methodical first quarter, 1110, but the Trojans offense exploded over the next 15 minutes, building a 34-16 lead at the break and a 56-23 lead through three quarters.
