Body Larry “Newk” Keith Newcomb of Minden, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the age of 58 at Kearney Regional Medical Center, Kearney, Nebraska. Funeral services was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Minden United Methodist Church with the Rev.

Body ARCADIA - Behind an explosive three-minute stretch in the third quarter, the Arapahoe football team turned a slugfest into a romp, taking a 38-12 victory at Arcadia-Loup City Friday.

Body SOUTHERN VALLEY - The Southern Valley volleyball team rolled past Hi-Line on opening night, taking a 25-4, 25-12, 25-13 victory ovr the visiting Bulls. The Eagles dominated at the service line, serving 23 aces in the match, including 14 from Ann Bose.

Body Thelma Ann Riepe-Sprague who was raised in the Arapahoe area along with her cousin Barbara Ann Wendland- Maaske. Both will be turning 90 years old. Thelma Ann is the last of the George and Thelma Riepe family.

Body STAMFORD - The Southern Valley/Alma softball team saw its busy weekend of games reduced to a lone home contest with Alliance because of thunderstorms that rolled through the region on Friday.

Body The Maywood/Hayes Center football team got off to a slow start Thursday in Sutherland, but the Wolves claimed a win in the first game of the season 26-22.
