Early Intervention

Body
It has been a few years since my children were babies! Having spent my youth as a babysitter and a career in pediatrics, I was pretty comfortable in watching the developmental of babies, toddlers and young children. ( Teenagers are another story for another day!!) That isn’t always the case for young parents who may not have experience with this age group.

Clover Kid Camp held may 22

Body
On Wednesday, May 22nd Furnas County Extension held their first ever Clover Kid Camp! We had a successful turnout. Mornings started off with The Pledge of Allegiance & learning the 4-H Pledge, then each youth were able to take home their own old glory. Next, they went outside and played Simon Says as well as a new game called telephone. The youth were able to take away from both games about why we need to be a good listener and what could happen if we are not good listeners. Next, we talked about the people we can trust, youth were able to draw on a piece of paper who they thought they could trust.

You can beat high blood pressure

Body
Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) encourages you to check your blood pressure regularly to know your risk for health problems. Blood pressure is the pressure of blood pushing against the walls of your arteries. Arteries carry blood from your heart to other parts of your body. Blood pressure normally rises and falls throughout the day, but it can damage your heart and cause health problems if it stays high for a long time.
