CURTIS - A group of more than 300 bicyclists traversed the area last week, leaving Curtis on a 250-mile round trip through Frontier, Gosper, Furnas and Red Willow counties over five days. With overnight stops in Elwood, Cambridge and Mc-Cook twice, the group closed their tour with a return trip to Curtis Sunday.

Fourth of July celebrations planned across the area

With the Independence Day holiday on Friday, multiple communities across the area have planned for fireworks and other festivities for the Fourth. The Indianola Fire & Rescue will host a celebration on Thursday (July 3) at the ballpark, which will include food and family games, followed by fireworks.

Huskers named to Deans’ List for Spring

LINCOLN, NE (06/23/2025)-- More than 6,700 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students have been named to the Deans’ List for the spring semester of the 2024-25 academic year. Qualification for the Deans’ List varies among the eight undergraduate colleges and the Explore Center.

On June 12, 2025, Cambridge Unit 199 of the American Legion Auxiliary met in regular session in the Community Building with 8 members present. After Presentation of the Colors, Pledge of Allegiance, Prayer and Preamble, President Marlene Witte called the meeting to order at 2:10 p.m. Minutes of the April meeting were read. (There was no meeting in May.) Sue Witte made a motion to approve the minutes; Charla seconded.
