On July 7th, the Indianola City Council met at Indianola City Hall. After approving the minutes of their June 16th meeting, the April 2025 Treasurer Report, and various other claims, the council focused its attention on updating the current building permit. Following brief discussion about the proposed changes, the item was tabled until the next meeting.

CAMBRIDGE – With the fifth annual NEFarmTok golf tournament quickly approaching, the group’s president, Cyndi Schure of Humphrey, says there’s still time for teams to sign up. To date, fourteen teams have signed up.

Mother Nature was kind to The Hill and surrounding neighborhood again this last week. Storms and downpours hit nearby, but we appreciate the ½” showers we’re getting, just when we need them. At least that’s been the norm recently.

A third positive case of rabies in an animal has been reported to Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD). This positive rabies test was from a bat in Furnas County. It is normal to see one to three cases of rabies per year in southwest Nebraska.

Dallas Grunden, an upcoming senior at Maywood High School, has been chosen as the 2025-2026 Frontier County Farm Bureau Youth Ambassador. Dallas is the daughter of Harris and Joanie Grunden of rural Maxwell.
