Arapahoe competed at the Shelton Wrestling Invite on Saturday, Jan. 16. The team finished second at the invite behind Red Cloud-Blue Hill. Arapahoe earned 131 points, only one point behind Red Cloud-Blue Hill. South Loup was the third place team with 105 points.

EUSTIS - After a rocky shooting start Friday, the Arapahoe boys basketball team found the range in the middle quarters to bank a lead, then leaned on its defense for a 48-3o victory over Hi-Line. Arapahoe improved to 4-8 while Hi-Line fell to 2-11.

EUSTIS - After seeing a lead they maintained essentially the entire game dissolve early in the fourth quarter, the Arapahoe girls basketball team pulled one out of the fire in the final two minutes for a 44-41 victory at Hi-Line on Friday.

Both Southern Valley basketball squads had a difficult week while facing Chase County and Holdrege on the road. The Southern Valley boys also met their first defeat from Chase County since taking on Elm Creek early in December.

Southern Valley earned 53 points for 11th place at the Gibbon Bill Foster Invite on Saturday, Jan. 16. Hi-Line also competed at the invite, earning 21 points for 13 place. Boone Central won the invite with 227 points.

Cambridge finished eighth at the Minden Duals invite on Friday, Jan. 15. St. Paul took the invite in first place. Thayer Central and Holdrege followed in second and third, respectively.

Southwest won the Sandhills/Thedford Knights Invite on Saturday, Jan. 16, with 138 points. Sutherland followed Southwest with 126 points. Cambridge also competed at the tournament earning 32 points for a 14th-place finish.
