Vaccines for Children Public Clinics in February

Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) will be offering Vaccines for Children at public clinics in February. Anyone two months of age and older are invited to get their vaccinations. Flu shots will still be available for anyone 6 months of age and older. Flu (influenza) is circulating throughout the health district, and almost 100 people have gone to the emergency room for influenza so far this flu season. Getting a flu shot now will provide protection for the rest of time flu is going around. It is never too late to get a flu shot.

Hospital Auxiliary purchases baby monitors for tVHS nursery warmers

The Cambridge Memorial Hospital Auxiliary met January 20, 2026 in the Tri Valley Health System Meadowlark Room with lunch provided by the hospital. President Diane Schultz presided over the meeting with 12 members present. Minutes of the November 18, 2025 meeting were read and approved, followed by reports from the treasurer, president, Thrift Shop Cochairman, Foundation Director Jill Goodwin and CEO Clay Jordan.

MPCC announces Fall President’s and Dean’s Lists

A total of 138 students qualified for the President’s List during the 2025 fall semester at Mid-Plains Community College. To make the list, each student had to complete 12 or more applicable credit hours in college-level courses and maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.9 or greater on a 4.0 scale.

Wayne State announces Dean’s List

Frontier County Food Pantry fills tables all year round

The Frontier County Food Pantry surprised patrons on Sunday, January 11 with a Happy New Year Food Distribution! As patrons showed up for what they thought was a normal Sunday food distribution, they learned they’d be getting a Happy New Year meal to enjoy in their homes.

CCC announces President’s and Dean’s Honor lists

(Grand Island, Neb.) – Central Community College has announced the names of full-time students who earned spots on the President’s and Dean’s honor lists for the 2025 fall semester. The students were enrolled at one or more CCC locations, which include the Columbus, Grand Island and Hastings campuses and Holdrege, Kearney, Lexington and Ord centers.

Mike Trader Mid-America Basketball Camp

Mike Trader’s Annual Mid-America Basketball Camp will conduct eight individual sessions this summer. The overnight and commuter camps for boys and girls will be held on July 6-9 at Doane University and July 20-23 at Central Community College in Columbus.

UNK hosting more than 600 students for annual Honor Band & Choral Clinic

KEARNEY – More than 600 students from 100 high schools across the state will participate in the annual Honor Band and Choral Clinic at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Presented by the UNK Department of Music, Theatre and Dance, the event provides advanced musical instruction and performance opportunities for outstanding band and choir students.
