The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is accepting applications for proposals to fund research on Nebraska’s at-risk species. Grant applications are due Jan.

The Maywood National Honor Society sponsored a school-wide food drive for the Frontier County Pantry. Through the efforts of the school and community, they were able to reach their goal of collecting 1,000 items. Thanks to everyone supporting the drive. The Arapahoe-Holbrook Public Schools district is holding a special election for a Tax Authority Override of up to $750,000. With ballots due back January 13, we asked Arapahoe Superintendent Bob Drews to answer a series of five questions to help explains why the special vote was taking place and its importance for the district. The questions and his answers were as follows: 1) Through a series of town hall meetings, the Arapahoe- Holbrook Public Schools district Board of Education and administration has said the district’s financial situation has become strained and budget forecasting indicates the district will need additional tax revenues to meet its current needs.
