Roger was a proud farmer growing up (continuing on, helping friends and family during harvest), a proud Veteran (serving in the Air Force from 1971 to 1975), a proud member of the Edison American Legion, a proud sports fan (GO HUSKERS!), a proud son, brother, father, and grandfather, and most of all, a proud friend.

DARLENE A. DIZMANG

Darlene Ann Dizmang, 89, of Moorefield, Nebraska, died January 2, 2024 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE. Darlene Dizmang was born on July 30, 1934 in Moorefield. The lord took her January 2, 2024. She was the daughter of Vaughn and Esther Hand and had two sisters Donna and Marge. Darlene grew up on the family farm north of Moorefield. She attended Moorefield elementary school and then graduated from Farnam High School in 1952.

DOUGLAS K. GENGENBACH

Douglas K Gengenbach, 84, passed away at his home Friday, December 22, 2023. He was born December 7, 1939 to Fred and Ilene (DeBoer) Gengenbach in Eustis, Nebraska. He attended country school and graduated from Eustis in 1957. He married Jane Grabenstein on May 1, 1960. To this union, his son Brent, and daughter Janine were born. In the early 70’s he built a farmyard which included their home, grain storage, shops and cattle pens. The marriage ended in 1978. In 1979, Doug married Merikay Berg. That marriage ended in 2011. He moved to McAllen, Texas and opened a yogurt store and farmed. Doug farmed his entire life.

DAVID L. RASK

David L. Rask, 69, of Minden, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Kearney Regional Medical Center – Bryan Health. Funeral services was held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden with Rev. Donald Hunzeker and PMA Julie Schmidt officiating. The service was streamed to the church’s YouTube page. Interment following the service at the Minden Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials in Dave’s honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.

Roger Olmsted, formerly of Beaver City and Phillipsburg, passed away December 24 at the age of 71. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29 at 10:30 a.m. at the Olliff-Boeve Funeral Chapel (1115 Second Street) in Phillipsburg.
