When most people think of 4-H, they think about county fairs, workshops, and contests, but Nebraska 4-H offers year-round programs in non-traditional programming in your local schools.

Maywood Old Glory Days held this weekend

MAYWOOD - Maywood will hold its Old Glory Days celebration this weekend, highlighting the United States’ 250th Birthday. Friday night, a Team Sorting will be held, then events take place throughout the day Saturday, including a pedal pull and coin scramble for children in the morning, activities and a kiddie carnival in the park in the afternoon, a car, truck and motorcycle show, pitch, horseshoe and dodgeball tournamets in the afternoon, a goat roping and music by Brady Nichols and The High Plains Drifters to conclude the evening Saturday.

Two Men Arrested Following Violent Assault in Oxford

On May 10, 2026, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Furnas County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into a serious assault that occurred in Oxford, Nebraska. The incident came to the attention of law enforcement after a 44-year-old male victim was transported by private vehicle to Phelps Memorial Hospital in Holdrege, Nebraska, for treatment of significant injuries.

Cambridge Council encourages residents to limit watering lawns during drought

Cambridge City Council met in regular session on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. After the Pledge of Allegiance and the Open Meeting Law announcement, the Council approved the Consent Agenda, which included the minutes from the previous City Council meeting, the claims, the Library Board Minutes, as well as the Planning Commission Minutes, and Building Permits. Building Permits were issued to Williams Storage, Trinity Community Church, Tri Valley Health System, Patrick Horwart, Toby Webb, Larry and Mary Jo Young, Nebraska Corn Processing, and Troy Mousel.
